Tadawul index gains insignificantly

Saudi Arabia: The Saudi Tadawul-index (Tasi) closed 0.05% higher at 5,202.57 points. Trade Union posted the largest gain (up 10%). The Hotel sector index emerged as the winning segment, gaining 2.47%. Hotel operator Toursim Enterpise, dubbed Shams, jumped 9.83%. The Kingdom constantly upgraded its tourism sector. Group tourism visas were allowed in 2007, a global marketing campaign was launched in the same year. <BR>Saqr Insurance gained 9.76%. The Saudi Insurance sector index outperformed all other Tadawul indices sin the start of 2009, gaining 42.11%. The Tasi-index advanced by 8.32% during the same period. [AMEInfo.com]
